The Stanton ATM.6 Active Monitor is developed specifically for DJs with home studios, so if you’ve got a high-end professional setup, look elsewhere for monitors. For everyone else, the ATM.6 monitors are great home studio additions. The big difference between the ATM.6 monitors and most other monitors is that they’re active, which means the little amplifiers inside the monitors are developed specifically to match the speaker driver and design of the cabinet. The better the amplifiers match the speaker driver, the closer the playback sound you’re hearing will be to the original recording.
The monitor features a 1-inch tweeter, 6-inch glass woofer, gain control, high-frequency control, and XLR/TRS/RCA inputs. With all of these features working together, you’re going to get a clean sound coming from your monitors, so you don’t have to worry too much about sound artifacts or distortion. I’ll be getting my hands on a set for a review soon, so if you’re interested in purchasing a pair, stay tuned.
