Dell XPS M1730 Appears On Site

Dell has truly done a great job of promoting its XPS lineup of computers as solid gaming platforms. The latest lappy to join the group is the XPS M1730, which just appeared on If you’re looking for an inexpensive laptop for word processing and using the ‘net though, then you’ve come to the wrong place. The M1730 will feature a 17-inch WUXGA(BCO#&$#$) display, a 2.8GHz Core 2 Extreme X7900 CPU, 4MB of cache, 2GB of DDR2 memory, 400GB of storage (7200 RPM drives), a DVD burner with a Blu-ray option available, 512MB nVidia GeForce 8700M GT video card, 802.11a/g/n WiFi (what, no B?!), and some huge ass battery.

Unfortunately, you’ll have to endure using Windows Vista Ultimate, which comes preloaded on the machine. Hopefully that optional HSDPA or EVDO rev. A card works in Vista, ’cause after paying between $3000 and $4500, you’ll realize you could have just bought a PS3, 360 and Wii and still had cash over for a Macbook. But hey, you got the cash, you might as well go all out and eat a whole pizza while you’re at it.
