Official Samsung netbook photos, more details

Here are some more details and official photos of Samsung’s impending netbook that’s due to hit Korea sometime in October. What Laptop says that we can expect a 10.2-inch screen, three color options (white, black, and blue), three USB ports, Ethernet, and VGA-out. So pretty much par for the course when it comes to netbooks.

However, what Samsung has done really well is make the keyboard and trackpad as large as possible. You’ll notice two large Shift keys on that keyboard, which I’d welcome with open arms. There isn’t any extra crud around the keyboard either. The power button has been placed on the side of the device to make extra room. Smart.

Other details are scant, though What Laptop claims that “we can expect it to ship with Windows XP, be powered by an Intel Atom N270 processor and 1024MB of memory.” Apparently Samsung has said that pricing will be in line with other competing netbooks and the netbook will come with a six-cell battery good for over five hours of use. Rumor has it that storage options will be 80-, 120-, or 160-gigabyte hard drives.

Unfortunately, we might be getting all riled up for nothing as it’s unclear whether this thing will even make it to the United States. It’ll ship in Korea first and What Laptop seems to think it’ll be heading to the UK, but that’s about all we know so far.
