Verizon! Stop This Autoplaying Nonsense!
What the hell is this? An autoplaying advertisement for Verizon’s shitty media software pack when I plug in my Droid X? Who? Why? I’m ready to cancel.

I’m not entirely sure when this started, but it was within the last week. But now whenever I plug my Droid X into my computer, a browser pops up and starts autoplaying a video demonstrating the amazing capabilities of the VCAST media software. I can’t figure out how to turn this damn thing off. It doesn’t seem to matter if the Droid X’s USB mode is Charge Only or USB Mass Storage. It always pops up and starts playing. Amazing that someone thought this was a good idea.

I’m all for profitable companies and the whole free market rubbish. Want to advertise your wares? Great, but yo, I’m already a paying customer. Don’t force me to watch a video about your horrible media syncing software every time I plug my phone into my computer. Most of the time all I want to do is charge the phone anyway. I don’t want to sync my media. Who does that? I’m pretty sure my 16-year old sister can manage media in mass storage mode without the aid of some stupid software.

This very well could be what causes me to leave Verizon. Their service already costs way more than AT&T and Sprint and I’ve been looking for an excuse. I’m not a fan of my Droid X and never leave me house so the service area doesn’t concern me. What concerns me is that Verizon feels the need to interact with their customers on a daily basis. Want to show me a video of your super sweet media software? Great! Email me.
