, RjDj Founder, Michael Breidenbrücker, Joins Playboard App Discovery Startup 42matters

Serial entrepreneur Michael Breidenbrücker — founder of and RjDj — is joining the team behind Zurich-based app discover startup, 42matters, maker of the Playboard Best App Guide for Google’s Play Store, along with other apps such as AppAware. The startup was recently shortlisted at the Dublin Web Summit’s startup competition.

42matters’ flagship product, Playboard, is a sort of Flipboard for app discovery — powered by algorithms but curated by editors, while also giving users the ability to personalise recommendations. The startup says the Playboard ecosystem already accounts for 400,000 app impressions per day and generates more than 30,000 daily clicks on Google Play.

Gamma capital partners, a 42matters investor, said Breidenbrücker will support the 42matters team — in areas such as corporate development, product and mobile industry networking. He will also be joining the board.

“Michael’s extensive experience in the app economy and building up recommendation services will help to boost the next phase,” said Andrea Girardello, CEO of 42matters in a statement.

“We have been in talks for quite a while and we are happy to finally have Michael on board,” added Paul Weinberger, GCP Venture Partner and Member of the Board at 42matters in a statement.

Breidenbrücker co-founded music scrobbler and managed the company as CEO from 2002 until 2005, prior to its 2007 acquisition by CBS. His latest venture is music app builder
