Apple broke quite a lot of ground today at its yearly developer conference. The company, the most valuable in the world, announced new operating system builds for PCs and mobile devices and made its Swift programming language open source.
Also in the mix were an array of products that, while sometimes new to Apple, are not new to the market. And that’s no sin — who actually recalls the first social network or blogging platform? But it’s worth keeping the larger context of Apple’s news in mind.
